For publications, presentations, etc., please use the following format to cite Cantus ID numbers:

  • the prefix “Cantus ID”
  • one space
  • the number assigned to the chant in “Cantus Database” and “Cantus Index”

For example, “Cantus ID 001234", “Cantus ID 006745a”, “Cantus ID g02576”, “Cantus ID a00345”.
