- Description
-
Single vellum folio (membrum disjectum), trimmed on all sides. The layout is in two columns, with rubricated headings, red-and-blue penwork initials for textual sections, and black-and-red simple initials for chant underlay. Musical notation is in black square notes on red tetragrams. The recto shows notation primarily in the left column, with text in the right; the verso alternates between text and chant sections. The verso is heavily rubbed and faded. A later French annotation in the upper right corner of the recto reads “XIII siecle.” Contents include chants for the liturgy of Christmas and Epiphany, and for the Offertory and Communion.
