There is a note written on the bottom of f. 47r that reads: "From the Library of Stanley Slotkin. Founder of Abbey Rents. Circa 1150 [sic]." Stanley Slotkin (1905-1997) dismantled books with the aim to get "a piece of history" into the hands of small-town libraries and schools. He donated manuscript fragments to many organizations in the form of "leaf sets" (folders containing one page from several different famous books), and is one of a number of twentieth-century biblioclasts at the centre of the "preservation" vs. "access" controversy.

A label stuck to the back of the frame reads: "Glory to the Father and to the Son (Filio) and to the Holy Spirit."
