Summary
Flyleaf of volume from the monastery at Mondsee. Hufnagel notation on four-line staves. Bifolium, with dimensions 142 x 210 mm.
Description

This fragment contains one chant, "Media vita in morte sumus," (an antiphon which appears in the Lenten offices of other medieval manuscripts) written on the flyleaf of a volume from the monastery at Mondsee. The other half of the same bifolio, glued to the front cover, contains a text on the care of souls and the education of boys, which seems to predate the musical addition. The binding dates from approximately the end of the 15th century; the text and musical addition were likely created sometime in the second half of that century.
