Indexing Notes

After the word "Offerentur," the annotation "minor" (in black ink) identifies this chant as the shorter of the two offertories beginning with Offerentur (=g00083). A later hand has added "ii" above the incipit (presumably the folio where the chant occurs in the mass for St. Lucy.) The first letter of the incipit "Offerentur" is written in red ink; rather than simply marking the beginning of the chant, such red capitals might serve as instructions, pointing to the introit (with its large red initial) near which the corresponding Gradual or Offertory for St. Agnes is to be found. The incipit is followed by the red rubric "Quere in antea de s. Lucia ad officium Dilexisti"
