Indexing Notes
The opening of this chant is missing; While no rubric is evident on the folio, the text indicates that this antiphon is for a feast of St. Francis. Because there is an alleluia at the end of this antiphon, this feast might be the Translation of Francis, the only Francis feast which can occur during the Paschal season, or another Franciscan feast which could fall during a non-penitential season (such as the Stigmata of Francis on September 17th). Rubrics for antiphons that follow suggest that this chant may have been sung during the octave (perhaps Feria ii). Stamp of ownership on the third staff indicates the monastery of San Pedro Regalado in La Aguilera in the province of Burgos, Spain.
